Model-based Fault Detection of Rotor Position Sensor Fault in Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor for Electric Vehicle

Abstract Permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) are widely used in drive system of electric vehicles (EVs) because their high efficiency, wild torque range, power density, etc. However, rotor position, as a very critical parameter for its control strategy, often faces inaccuracies operation. In this paper, the problem position sensor fault detection EV was studied. The mathematical model with specific introduced discrete form and built Matlab/Simulink. Based on field oriented strategy model, novel scheme based parity space proposed. proposed method considered influence closed-loop to result. A residual generator evaluator were included. simulation results demonstrated effectiveness applicability method.
